Internship with Impact: Bridging Accessibility through Audio Support

Recently, two enthusiastic interns—Mr. P. Kandeepan (3rd Year B.A. Tamil, Presidency College, Chennai) and Mr. S. Jai Akash (Dept. of BCA, Agurchand Manmull Jain College, Chennai)—completed enriching internships at the Anna Centenary Library’s Braille Section.

Mr. Kandeepan dedicated 6 days, while Mr. Jai Akash contributed 15 days, both immersing themselves in the rewarding experience of supporting visually impaired pupils. Their key activities included reading TNPSC study materials aloud and converting over 75 educational videos into audio files for TNPSC, RRB, and TRB exam preparations.

Both interns expressed immense satisfaction and gratitude for the unique opportunity to make a difference. They thanked the Anna Centenary Library and its supportive staff for guiding them and enabling them to play a meaningful role in the community.

Such initiatives highlight the library’s commitment to inclusivity and the power of youth engagement in social causes. We salute their dedication and look forward to more such inspiring collaborations!
