Exploring the Braille Section at Anna Centenary Library: A Visit by Government School Students and Teachers

Government school students and teachers, who were in town to participate in a state-level quiz competition, recently visited the Braille section at Anna Centenary Library. During their visit, they explored the world of Braille, learning about its unique script and how it is written. Our library staff enthusiastically answered their questions, providing insights into the significance of Braille for the visually impaired.

A highlight of the interaction was when the students fondly recalled N.L. Beno Zephine, a visually challenged individual who achieved the remarkable feat of clearing the UPSC exams. Her inspiring story left a lasting impression on everyone present.

This visit not only deepened their understanding of Braille but also highlighted the importance of inclusivity and accessibility in education. Join us in celebrating such meaningful engagements that inspire and empower!
