Information for Visually Impaired persons:

Exam Stages: 

The exam will include a Single Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a Translation Test (TT), Performance Test (PT), or Teaching Skill Test (TST) (if required), and then document verification and medical examination. The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) may conduct the CBT in either one stage or multiple stages.

Examination Fee:

  • Fee: ₹250/-
  • This fee applies to candidates who are PwBD, female, transgender, ex-servicemen, or belong to SC/ST, minority communities, or Economically Backward Classes (EBC).
  • The fee will be refunded (after deducting bank charges) if the candidate appears for the 1st Stage CBT.

Educational Qualifications: 

Candidates must have the required educational, technical, or professional qualifications listed in Annexure-A from a recognized board, university, institute, or authority as of the last date for application submission (06/02/2025).

  • Candidates waiting for final exam results should not apply.

Assistance of Scribe for PwBD Candidates:

Candidates with certain disabilities, such as blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), or cerebral palsy, can request a scribe's assistance during the exam.

  1. Eligibility for Scribe:

    • Scribe is allowed for candidates with benchmark disabilities as specified.
    • For others, a certificate from a government medical officer (as per Annexures) is required.
  2. How to Arrange a Scribe:

    • Candidates must arrange their own scribe.
    • The scribe’s qualification should be one level below the candidate’s qualification.
    • The scribe must not be appearing for the same exam.
  3. Application Process for Scribe:

    • Provide details of the scribe and upload their passport-size photo (40-70 KB, plain white background).
    • A separate e-Call Letter will be issued for the scribe.
    • Scribe should carry an original ID proof and a passport-sized photo to the exam center.
  4. Additional Notes:

    • Candidates using a scribe will get extra time: 20 minutes per hour of the exam.
    • Changes to the scribe at the exam venue are generally not allowed, except in emergencies.
  5. Who Cannot Use a Scribe:

    • Candidates with less than 40% disability are generally not eligible, except under special circumstances (with relevant certificates).
    • One-eyed candidates or those with less than 40% visual disability are not considered visually impaired.
  6. Responsibilities:

    • The candidate is responsible for any misconduct by the scribe.

Key Guidelines for Scribe Assistance:

  • Scribe details must be submitted while filling the online application.
  • In emergencies, a new scribe can be arranged at the exam venue with proper documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with government rules regarding scribes.
