Indian Railways Recruitment 2024: Opportunities for Visually Impaired Persons - 2025

The Indian Railways has announced a massive recruitment drive for Level-1 posts under CEN No. 08/2024, with a total of 32,438 vacancies. This recruitment is open to eligible candidates, including Braille users and other Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), who meet the specified medical and educational criteria.

Key Highlights for Braille Users:

Medical Standards: Braille users with Low Vision (LV) or Blindness (B) are eligible for specific posts as per the medical standards outlined in the notification.

Scribe Facility: Braille users can avail the assistance of a scribe during the Computer Based Test (CBT). The scribe must meet the qualification criteria specified by the Railways.

Exemption from Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Braille users are exempted from the PET but must pass the medical examination.

Reservation: Vacancies are reserved for PwBD, including Braille users, as per government norms.

Important Dates:
